Mezzanine has created causal elegance on the shores of the Caribbean Sea. If you have yet to visit Mezzanine it is heaven on earth, and a must do. It is a small boutique hotel, a trendy upscale bar and a restaurant that serves great Thai food; all located on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I have been to Mezzanine a handful of times for cocktails and appetizers, dinner, beach lounging, and general indulgence. After the last couple of times of decadence and social hedonism I thought I would write about my experiences.
The following week we returned for the day with a large group to laze around the pool, enjoy some cold beers, and have botanas and appetizers through out the afternoon. Upon our arrival we had the entire place to ourselves, and although we had brought our laptops to hook up to their wireless, they never saw the light of day as we wiled away the afternoon. Initially when we asked if we could use the pool they claimed it was only for guests and refused our request, but we didn't give up that easily. Eventually we convinced them that we were guests for the day; therefore we were “eligible” for pool use. When we ordered the chicken quesadillas, with poolside service, they were made with large tortillas, and stuffed to the gills with grilled chicken and dripping with melted cheese. Served with copious amounts of guacamole and fresh salsa they were the best deal on the menu. Although the day staff was less attentive then the dinner crew we still had an amazing day, and are looking forward to our next decadent afternoon at Mezzanine. We have yet to utilize the cool upstairs billiard room, which is definitely a good enough excuse to head to Mezzanine soon.
